Canopy Activity
Canopy Activity represents a section of this story and reveals how information is disseminated throughout the landscape. The trees contain the code that is freed through the activity of the Philapores, a host of beautifully plumaged birds that are incapable of conventional flight but can travel through dense matter. By stripping the trees of their bark the Philapores release the code in the form of black discs, encoded elements of which become programmed into the geometric pattern of their feathers. The Knight hunts the Philapores in order to capture and wear these feathers and so elevate himself through chivalry to the point where he may re-obtain the Princess. Tied to the branches of the trees are various bags that contain the Philapores feathers collected by the Knight over time. Code Spectrums, brightly colored beams of code, also disseminate information from one black sphere to another while a waterfall of pure code seeps back into the landscape completing the cycle of code transferral and the steady evolution of a new alternative universe.

After the Woods centers on the reunion of a young man and woman after a separation of 1000 years. Willed into existence by a conscious landscape that has rediscovered the code embedded within it, the man becomes a Knight adorned in armor while the woman is transformed into a Princess who over time evolves into a spaceship. While her metamorphosis represents the advancement of artificial intelligence his transformation triggers the evolution and expansion of the natural landscape. The Knight’s quest for the Princess leads him towards a realization and releasing code, disseminating consciousness like a form of alchemy throughout his immediate environment. The forest grows and becomes populated by fantastical creatures creating a new magical eco-system through which technology and nature are combined.
